Feed your dog a good quality dogfood.

Always keep fresh water available for your dog.

If your dog is outside, provide adequate shelter for him in the form of a doghouse, and shade for him in the summer.

If inside, take your dog out at least three times a day.

Have your female dog spayed or your male dog neutered.

Take your dog to the vet in the Spring for a heartworm check and preventative medication.

Keep a collar on your dog and check it regularly to make sure it's not too tight.

Take your dog to obedience classes to help with socialization.
