Feed your cat a good quality cat food.  Do not feed dog food--cats need more protein and amino acids than dog food provides.

Always have fresh, clean water available for your cat.

Provide your cat with a clean litterbox and scoop out waste daily.

Have your cat spayed or neutered.

Take your cat to the vet for shots and a checkup at least once a year.

Brush your cat regularly to keep her fur free of mats.

Keep your cat indoors; there are too many dangers for a cat outdoors.

Your cat should have an identification tag and a safe breakaway collar in case she does get out.

Provide your cat with a scratching post and a variety of toys.

Set aside time each day for interactive play time.
